What is Remy Human Hair?

Remy hair simply put, means all cuticles are facing in the same direction. This is what prevents the hair from tangling, shedding and looking dried out. This hair usually comes from one donor, and is one of the highest qualities on the market, thus it is one of the most expensive. Full cuticle layer of the hair is intact, which is what makes it last longer and look more lustrous week after week.

What is virgin hair?

Virgin hair is non-chemically processed human hair, which is collected from a single donor, that has not been altered by dyes, perms, bleaches, or harsh washes to change the DNA makeup of the hair.

Is Remy hair virgin?

Remy hair is not necessarily virgin hair, since it may be colored or permed. Its defining features are an intact cuticle and the manner in which it was harvested.

Non-Remy hair is the overage hair that in most cases is gathered from the floors of temples and salons, mixed with different synthetic fibers, textures, colors, donors then recycled to make a weft. The hair cuticles are facing assorted directions, which causes the hair to tangle and matte just after a few days of wear. Often they may process the hair in a silicone base coating to try to mask the hair.

What is the difference between Remy and non-remy hair?

Remy hair is collected from the head of a single donor in such a way as to keep the hair’s cuticles properly arrayed in relation to its neighboring hairs. This means the hair remains softer and silkier, this is the only proper format to produce high-quality wigs, extensions and hairpieces.

Understanding texture and style

Human hair is processed and sold in many textures; Silky, also known as European, Yaki or Yaky and Curly, as you can imagine there are many textures within these categories. Silky hair is pretty much as it sounds, straight and silky.  Yaki (Yaky) hair has more texture and volume, it feels a bit coarse to touch. And the curly has different curl patterns.

What type of hair extensions do you use?

Pre-bonded Human Remy Hair (also called pre-tipped, I-tipped, or stick-tipped). The hair extensions are made by forming a bond on the root end of a small amount of extension hair. These extensions are applied strand by strand with the microlink cylindrical bond. Only cuticle correct pre-bonded hair is used by us.

Weft Human Remy Hair is a long strip usually made of net-like fabric to which hair is attached. Wefts are either ‘machine sewn’ or ‘hand-tied’. Only cuticle correct weft hair is used in the making of the hair that is used by us.

How much hair do I need?

For a completely natural looking installation of hair extensions, the average client needs about 8 – 10oz. If you’re looking for a partial install, 6-7oz is recommended.

My Recommendations:

12” to 14” about 2 bundles

16” to 22’’ about 3 bundles

24′ to 30’’ about 4 bundles

I don't know what length to get. Can you help?

Understanding our Pricing.

First, we must consider the length and texture of the donor hair. Then the complexities of color, cuticles, type, and grade are considered. For example, Curly virgin hair is one of the highest priced items, due to the rarity of virgin curly hair. A consultation is required to determine your exact cost.
